So i got to go to New York. I was actually in New Jersey at a school for the military. We had a weekend and me and my crazy roommate decided to go to New York. I rode the train from Burlington, NJ to Trenton, NJ. After we got to Trenton we had to get on another train. The train went to New York City. We arrived in New York City. The train station was underneath Madison Sqaure Gardens. It was weird. We walked around all over the city. It was so cool. The police officers were just like on the tv shows. Standing next to their cars or up against a wall just watching or talking to people. I thought the people would be rude and stuck up there. They were some of the nicest people i have ever met. I got to see everything i wanted. Ground Zero was unbelievable. So breathe taking. I was speechless for about an hour. And for all of those who know me that is impressive, cause i cant stop talking. I rode the subway and that was a thrill. Wall Street was pretty cool but the bull was even better. Central Park was pretty cool. All City surrounding a very green park. Time Square was so cool. I cant believe the amount of people that could fit there new years eve. wow. The empire state building was really cool. We didnt get to go to the top. It was being remodeled. So yeah I hope i can go back. Take the family to the crazy city.

Times Square. Even Better in Person. Pretty Cool.

STATUE of LIBERTY. I finally got to see her in person. It was awesome.

The Bull WOOHOO

Me at ground zero. this was very breathe taking. there were no words to describe it. i was speechless for about an hour.

Empire State Building. I got to see this in person. it was so cool. Didnt get to go up though they were remodeling. darn

If people would just accept the fact that war is inevitable, and it will happen life would be easier. If people would support the military, maybe more troops would come home to their loved ones because they would feel that what they were doing is for a good cause. Instead people think war should never happen and condemn every one who supports the military. The military defends their right to think, speak, and write about things like that. It is crap. Why should we defend the ones who belittle the military, or think we shouldn't have a military. If we didn't fight or go to war we would end up like Iraq, or worse. It would be a dictatorship and who knows what pompous, arrogant, ruler we would have. They kill in other countries cause you didn't vote for the right person, or there is only on runner for the office. Why, cause the others know if they run they will die. America is great. We have so many freedoms and rights no other country has. I don't know what every ones problem with America is but they need to get over it. It is sad that a horrible event had to happen to bring this country together like Sept. 11th, but what good did it do, we fell apart again. What happened to Patriotism, Loyalty. Apparently they don't mean crap to the rest of the U.S.A. I don't care if I offend the ones who don't support the military, if they don't like it in America the go somewhere else. We don't need your crap here.

The back of my sleeping box. It was nice staying in there. Warm and kept the dang wind off of us. Got to love it. We had power for lights and a fan to keep it some what bearable in there. After 2 weeks in the field the gross nasty clothes smelled very ripe. It was wonderful.

There is me in full gear. Imagine doing over 600 puchups with all of this on it sucks big time. Then running about 2 miles. WOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!

Fire

The Inside of the Box

My cool supply truck

This is my bad supply truck. It has and Allison transmission, not sure what engine and top speed is 62 miles an hour. It has push button control for inflating and deflating tires. It has a push button gear shifter. This is called the LMTV. There are other verions such as the MTV or FMTV. The MTV has 2 rear axles and can pull more. The FMTV looks like this one but is a troop carrier Ibelieve. The box on the back is our sleeping area. It holds 2 people but can accomadate 3 if nesssecary. Holds all of our personal gear and food and supplies we deliver to our fellow brothers in arms. Hooah

Howitzers

These are so awesome

This is what we call a howitzer, NOT A TANK!!!!!!
I got to pull the lanyard on the gun this past June and all i have to say is wow. A normal rifle just isn't the same anymore. It is like a pea shooter compared to this. A 155mm round and it does some serious damage. When you pull lanyard for the first time, they call it "popping the cherry". It is one of the most fascinating, most adrenaline pumping things in the world. Each round weighs 98 pounds and you have to heave them from the ground by your feet up onto the tray which is 3 feet in the air.
